STEP 2, LESSON 3
SUBMITTING THE REVIEW

Now that you have created your owner's review, it's time to submit your review for editing.  This is an easy process that you can complete one of two ways.  You MUST have joined the BackpackGearTest group on Yahoo!.  If you haven't done so yet, click here for instructions.

You can now post your review to the BackpackGearTest group either by logging into Yahoo and sending a message, or by sending an email to BackpackGearTest@yahoogroups.com.  Your review should be included as plain text in the message body, and not as a file attachment.

The SUBJECT of your message or email should be "OWNER REVIEW - (INSERT NAME OF ITEM)"  So, for our example item, the SUBJECT would be "OWNER REVIEW - Mag Instruments Maglite Solitaire"  If you have any trouble with this step, click here for instructions on joining the BGTFileUploadHelp group.  Once a member of that group, post your problem there.  If you need individual support, someone will help you through the entire process.

Once you have posted your owner review to the group, follow the group messages for responses to your review.  A Moderator will check your review, and may make editorial suggestions on how you should change it.  Please be patient, as the Moderators are an all volunteer group and have private lives as well.  It may take a few days for your report to be checked.  You will normally see a message with your original subject and the word "EDIT"  (EDIT - OWNER REVIEW - Mag Instruments Maglite Solitaire).  You will then edit your review to reflect the suggested changes.  You may have to submit your edited review to the group a second time, or the Moderator will tell you to make the suggested changes and upload your review to BackpackGearTest.org and indicate the folder that was created for your review.  If, after a few days, you have not been contacted and the folder has not been created, please send a gentle reminder to the list that you are waiting for a response.  Remember to be polite.  

Once you have secured approval to upload your review, it's time to do so.
