Conditions: Various trail conditions with warm temperatures

I have logged 20 to 30 trail miles using the SealSkinz socks and they have performed well. Since my first hike with them on the Black Creek Trail, these socks have lived up to my expectations, dry feet. I have carried them as extra socks on both day hikes and two backpacking trips. When rain threatened, I would put on the SealSkinz socks just in case. I did not use them as regular hiking socks, but could have easily. The two or three times that it did rain, I was glad to have the socks on. They kept my feet dry and warm. I did use them in snow once in the Rockies while climbing down a glacier. My shoes were wet, but my feet were dry.

If you have ever been on the trail with all of the runoff forming a stream right down the trail, you must have been on the Appalachian Trail. I can't think of another trail that this happens so repeatedly. Well, I was glad to have the SealSkinz socks with me when hiking this past August. I don't like hiking in wet shoes and socks. The SealSkinz socks took care of the wet socks department. The hiking in wet conditions was greatly improved by having on SealSkinz socks. Even with wet shoes, my feet were warm and comfortable. I think the SealSkinz socks have helped me feel confident about hiking in inclement weather. These socks are keepers. Thanks to SealSkinz for a fine product and to Danalco, Inc for allowing us to test them.
