comfortably (providing you are not
6'3" and 220lbs) and is the EASIEST Tent I have ever set up. It sets up very quickly and is well
made. I find the loop fasteners you
use when you roll up the fly or screening for venting etc. so easy. These were
great.
We tried all sorts of tie downs and
found if we guyed out from the top of the rear pole, one each side, this
eliminated the droop in tent ceiling.
The Fly fit over this quite well.
When the Fly was on, we found it a little more difficult to get in and
out of the tent. We feel the head
part of the fly was not needed to be down all the way, so looped it up and then
guyed the lower section way out, leaving lots of room for gear and also
discovered if there are no bugs and you keep the screen down you end up with
more floor space.
If I was sleeping without the rainfly and we suddenly got rain in the night, then I would definitely need to mark on the fly which was front and which was back, then we could put in on quickly. Another thing that I found exceptional for me, I do have arthritic hands and I was able to roll this tent well enough to fit in its bag. That's a plus for me. I think the tent weighed in at 4lbs 3oz until the U.S. Postal Scale went "Kaput" as we weighed a much heavier tent. Will try the scales again tomorrow. We leave for 5 days of backpacking the last week of this month and will use the tent for this trip. Will see then how the stakes work on ground other than a cush lawn. In the directions it said there should have been a repair sleeve for repair on the pole while out hiking. I did not receive this. So I will call the 800 number and request one. I found the zippers to work very well. My final report will be after we get back at the end of the month. Cheers, Marge Prothman margepr@sunvalley.net.
