Leki Sierra Photo/Hiking Staffs

I have around 80 miles on a pair of Leki Sierra Photo/Hiking Staffs.
I like them very well. I have used them as wading staffs, cross
country ski poles, tent poles and hiking staffs on dirt, pavement, snow
and ice. The only time I had one of them collapse on me, I think I
failed to tighten it enough.
I have used the threaded shafts of the camera mounts through the
ridgeline grommets of my tent. Although tieing a small loop of 1/4"
shockcord through the grommet and snapping it over the knob of the
staff seems to work as well. I am planning to try an "allthread"
coupler to connect the shafts together. I should be able to extend my
verticle reach nearly 10' for placing bearlines, retreiving kites,
etc.
The only thing that does become annoying sometimes is the "springy-
ringing" noise they make hitting hard ground. I plan to try inserting
some small pieces of spongy foam in the shaft cores someday to reduce
the ringing.
